I will be on maternity leave from murals until August 2008.

Where are you located?

I do murals in the Sacramento Valley area in California.

What type of paint do you use?

Generally I use odorless, non-toxic acrylic and acrylic latex paints.

Are the murals washable?

Yes, with light warm soapy water. They are also non-toxic to children.

Should we move furniture prior to work being started?

Furniture will need to be moved at least 4 feet away from the areas being painted. Any valuables should be moved out, as well. On the first day of work I will install drop cloths to protect your flooring as well as tape off all areas that need to be protected including moldings, ceilings, door frames, window frames, etc.

Will you paint a mural I’ve seen before?

Your mural should be unique. I will get the feel of another mural that you like and design an original mural based on that idea but all art is copyrighted and federally protected, including characters like Disney and Dr. Seuss.

How much does your work cost?

Pricing for any type of hand painted artwork including, wall murals and ceiling murals designs will be determined after I have conducted an onsite consultation. Some of the factors I consider when pricing a mural include; the initial concept drawing that may include research, study, sketches, the size or scale of the project, complexity of the design, the timeframe that it will take for me to complete the entire project, ease or difficulty of access to the work area. Our minimum fee for any project is $500 fee.

Will I be able to see a portfolio featuring your designs?

Yes. I have a portfolio featuring various murals and hand painted artwork that I am pleased to share with you. I will also discuss color ideas and show a variety of sketches for you to get an idea of my style and maybe come up with some ideas for your mural.

How long does it take to complete a project?

The primary goal is to provide you with exceptional service in a timely, professional manner. All murals are custom designed and hand applied using top quality paints, enabling us to produce a work of art that is superior in both design and finish. The timeframe for a mural or hand painted design will depend on the complexity and size of your project. A smaller scale mural can be painted over the course of a few days while larger and more intricate mural projects may take several weeks to complete.

Do the walls need to be prepped for painting?

Any necessary repairs to the surface should be done in advance and the area must be freshly painted in either an eggshell or satin latex paint finish. I do not provide base painting services for walls or ceilings, but I will help you pick out a base color to apply to the walls, if necessary, during our initial meeting.

How do I start the process?

First, we set up an first, 1 hour meeting, which is free, for you to see my portfolio, references and credentials so you can see my style, body of work and level of skill. I will measure space to be worked and discuss theme, color scheme, design ideas, limitations, deadlines, budget, personal preferences, and the many creative possibilities and interpretations with the client.

Once you approved the final idea, a $100 non-refundable fee is required. I will then begin research, sketches and pictures to develop the final design drawing. After client approves the final design, we sign the contract and schedule a starting time. There is a 50% deposit (the $100 fee is subtracted from deposit) required and 50% is due on completion. Each project is designed to the individual requirements of each client. If you have a certain budget, let me know and we can work within this as much as possible.
